Security has been significantly increased in Bareilly division ahead of the Dussehra festivities, following recent clashes in the region. Police, PAC, and RAF personnel have been deployed across the streets of four districts, and drones are being used to monitor the area to ensure public safety during the celebrations.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a 48-hour suspension of internet services, effective from 3 p.m. on Thursday until 3 p.m. on October 4. Authorities stated that the move aims to maintain peace and public order, as social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and messaging services could be misused to spread rumours and incite communal tension.
