Mumbai records 922 Covid cases, highest daily count since June; Maharashtra Omicron tally at 141
Mumbai Live News: Mumbai recorded 922 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, registering the highest daily count since June 4 this year. The city recorded a 21 per cent increase in cases over Saturday, when 757 cases were registered. Covid cases in the city have been rising at a fast pace over the last week. BMC officials said that cases are rising as the number of tests has been increased amid the emergence of Omicron.
As per the state government’s Covid-19 bulletin, Maharashtra reported 31 new cases of Omicron, of which 27 were from Mumbai, two from Thane, one each in Pune rural and Akola. With this, the state’s Omicron case tally has reached 141. The state government as a precautionary measure has already announced new curbs. The BMC has banned all celebrations and gatherings in the city.
