Telangana announces medical colleges in all the districts
Hyderabad: The Telangana government will establish medical colleges in all the districts. On Monday, Finance Minister, T Harish Rao while presenting the state budget for 2022-23, said that the new medical colleges will be established with a cost of Rs. 1,000 crore.
“I am sharing good news with the people of the State. Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided that all the districts of the State will have government medical colleges. These would be established over the next two years. This calendar year, we are going to start eight new medical colleges at Asifabad, Bhupalpally, Vikarabad, Sircilla, Janagaon, Kamareddy, Karimnagar and Khammam. During 2023, new medical colleges would be established in the other eight districts namely – Medak, Medchal, Ranga Reddy, Mulugu, Warangal, Narayanpet, Gadwal and Yadadri. The government is proposing an outlay of Rs 1,000 crores towards the establishment of new medical colleges,” Harish Rao in his budget speech said.
