Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuing his tradition of granting access to his social media accounts to women on International Women’s Day. On Saturday, PM Modi granted access to his social media accounts to women from various fields and strata to honour women in India.

Chess Player First To Take Over PM Modi’s Social Media Accounts

The first to take over PM Modi’s X, Facebook, and Linked Accounts was grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa’s sister Vaishali Rameshbabu, who is an international chess player. “I am Vaishali Rameshbabu and I am thrilled to be taking over our PM Thiru Narendra Modi ji’s social media properties and that too on #WomensDay,” she posted from the respective handles.

“I was born on 21st June, which is coincidentally now popular as International Yoga Day. I’ve been playing chess since the age of 6,” she said, adding, “I want to give a message to all the women out there, especially the young girls- follow your dreams, no matter the hurdles. Your passion will power your success. I want to encourage women to follow their dreams and break barriers in any field they choose because I know they can!”

She further urged parents and siblings to support the girls in their families. “Trust their abilities and they’ll do wonders,” she said.

Women In Science

The next to post from PM Modi’s social media accounts were a nuclear scientist Elina Mishra and space scientist Shilpi Soni. “We are thrilled to be helming the PM’s social media properties on Women’s Day. India is the most vibrant place for science and thus, we call upon more women to pursue it,” they said.

“Both of us, Elina and Shilpi are seeing the wide range of opportunities opening up in our respective sectors. It was unimaginable that a sector like nuclear technology would offer so many opportunities for women in India. Similarly, the increasing participation of women and the private sector in the world of space makes India the most happening place to innovate and grow! Indian women surely have the talent and India surely has the right platform,” they added.

Rural Entrepreneur Honoured

PM Modi did not give rural India a miss when granting access to his social media accounts. Anita Devi from the Anantapur village of Nalanda district in Bihar also got an opportunity to post from his social media handles. A mushroom farmer, Anita Devi said she wanted to make women self-reliant.

Businesswoman Gets Access To PM Modi’s Social Media Accounts

Anita Devi was followed by founder and CEO of Frontier Markets Ajaita Shah. Posting from PM Modi’s social media handles, she said, “Today, our nation can’t be ignored by the world. We are a promising market with an innovative spirit. And, this journey will get even stronger with women’s participation. I will urge all women to become a part of the India Story. A lot of women have shown how to break barriers and achieve this. My own experience says that the sky is the limit. Be self-reliant and give a better life to the future generations.”
