PM Modi security breach: Punjab govt was aware of changed travel plan, reveal documents
Even as the Punjab government maintains that the alleged security lapse during PM Modi’s visit to the state occurred due to last moment change in travel plans, a 32-page report has surfaced which shows that the administration had already prepared alternate security cover and route plan.
The internal document accessed by Aaj Tak/India Today indicates that the Punjab Police had been given prior notice by the SPG that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would travel from Bathinda Air Force Station to the public meeting in Ferozepur by road.
The report details how top Punjab Police officers along with police personnel from the adjoining four districts had been posted on the entire route as part of security arrangements for the prime minister’s convoy.
