Income Tax Return filing: #Extend_Due_Date_Immediately trends as people report complaints with tax portal

The due date for filing the ITR for AY21-22 is December 31. The central government had extended the ITR filing due date to December 31 from July 31 earlier in the year.

However, taxpayers demanded further extension of the due date as they complained that the tax filing portal was hanging repeatedly.

On Monday, #Extend_Due_Date_Immediately started trending on Twitter India as many users urged the government to extend the due date by a few days.
