Top SC lawyers seek CJI’s immediate intervention in Haridwar hate event
New Delhi: Top lawyers of the Supreme Court on Sunday wrote to Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana seeking his immediate intervention in two recent religious events – one in Delhi and another in Haridwar – where calls to use violence against Muslims was made.
Listing out the names of the people who were involved in the hate speeches, the lawyers urged the CJI to take suo moto cognisance of the calls for ‘ethnic cleansing’ in absence of concrete police action.
