The Gurugram police have provided security cover for the family of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav after unidentified assailants opened fire outside his Sector 57 residence.
According to officials, multiple rounds of firing were done at his house on Sunday morning. Following the incident, policemen have been deployed at the residence and patrolling has been increased in the area.
Officials said the matter is under investigation and the security arrangements will remain in place until further orders.
Shooting Outside Elvish Yadav’s Gurgaon Home
According to officials, between 5.30 and 6 am on Sunday, three motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire at Elvish Yadav’s Sector 57 residence and fired over two dozen rounds before fleeing. Bullets hit the ground and first floor of the house, though no one was injured.
An Instagram account later shared a post with two gun symbols and the title “Bhau Gang since 2020”, claiming responsibility for the attack and linking it to Yadav’s alleged promotion of illegal betting platforms.
The group is said to be headed by fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau, who lives in Portugal.
In the post, the alleged members wrote: “Today, the bullets that were fired at Elvish Yadav’s house were fired by us, Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. Today, we have introduced ourselves to him. He has ruined many homes by promoting betting. And all these social media bugs, we are warning that if anyone is found promoting betting, they can get a call or a bullet at any time. So all those who are into betting, be ready.”
Elvish Yadav was not at his Gurugram residence when the firing took place. Some family members and a caretaker were present inside the house during the attack, but none of them sustained any injuries. Elvish Yadav’s father Ram Avtar Yadav told the media that the YouTuber is usually not at home due to work commitments. He said that his family is very upset and scared by the incident.
