Manipur Issue: Oppn Likely To Move No-Confidence Motion Against Govt, Kharge Asks Modi To ‘Shed Ego’

“The situation in Northeast is fragile and the repercussions of Manipur violence seems to be spilling to other states too. This is not good for our sensitive border states. PM Modi must tell what is his government doing to improve the situation and when will normalcy return in Manipur,” the Congress chief further said.

The BJP too held its parliamentary board meeting to chalk out its strategy for the remaining days of the ongoing monsoon session, which has been marred by ruckus over the Manipur issue. The first two days of the monsoon session last week saw a similar ruckus, leading to nearly zero functioning of Parliament.

Addressing the BJP meet, PM Modi asked the MPs to focus on their work in making India a developed country by 2047. He said the Opposition was directionless and likened them to the East India company of the British.

“Opposition’s job is to protest, let them do it and focus on your work to make India a developed country by 2047. Our aim is to make India the third largest economy in the third term,” PM Modi said.

“The British came and named themselves East India Company. In the same way, the Opposition is presenting itself in the name of INDIA,” PM Modi said, taking a jab at the name of the Opposition alliance.
