UP Election Results 2022 LIVE Updates: People once again voted for nationalism, good governance, says Yogi Adityanath
In trends and results available for the 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP, the ruling party has so far won 48 seats and is currently ahead in 202 constituencies. This will be the first time in over three decades that a party will get re-elected for a second term in the politically crucial state.
The Akhilesh Yadav-led SP has so far bagged seven seats and the party is currently leading in 111 seats.
It is a high-stakes election in UP for the Bharatiya Janata Party as the state sends the highest number of 80 MPs to Lok Sabha and the party’s performance will have a bearing on the 2024 general election.
It is notable that several exit polls have predicted a clear majority for Yogi Adityanath’s BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. If the saffron party gets a majority in the 403-member Assembly, it would become the first party to get a consecutive second term in over three decades.
