Before PM Lands For Varanasi’s Grand Temple Event, Rush To Finish Work

Varanasi:

At the ghats along the Ganga in Varanasi, there is a last-minute scramble to finish work on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project, that connects two iconic landmarks in the temple town – the Kashi Vishwanath temple to the Ganga ghats.

Less than 24 hours are left for the inauguration of phase 1 of the project (built at a cost of ₹ 339 crores) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also represents Varanasi in Lok Sabha. With Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh around the corner, the event is likely to see the ruling BJP raise the poll pitch and showcase the project as one of its key achievements.
